Hello my friends!  I am taking a slight detour this month from our sewing lessons to teach some embroidery.  I have really fallen in love with embroidery lately.  It is such a relaxing and fulfilling activity.  And it's a super portable hobby!  You don't have to be tied down to a sewing machine.  You can take embroidery anywhere with you.  It's a great road trip hobby!

Are you ready for swim season!?  I know I cringe at the thought of trying to find modest swimsuits for my girls.  This is why several years ago, I learned how to make swimming suits for my girls.  I haven't purchased a swimwear in years.  My girls are covered.  And I don't have to use a gallon of sunscreen every time we go to the beach.  

Welcome back to sewing lesson number 4!!!  Now that you have a couple woven sews under your belt, you are ready to tackle knits!

Hello my sewing friends!  Welcome back for the second sewing lesson!!!  I hope you had fun practicing the skills of maintaining an even seam allowance, finishing seams, creating elastic casing, and hemming!  What did you make?  Pajama pants?  A skirt?  A bow?  If you missed the first lesson, you can find it here.   The most important skill to master from the first lesson is seam allowance.  If you can't maintain an even seam allowance, your garment will look crooked, the pieces won't fit together properly, and your garment may not even fit properly.  Maintaining an even seam allowance is so important, and it will totally come with a little practice!
